This year our teachers are Mrs Houghton and Mr Wilde and our teaching assistant is Mrs Pilling. We have an open door policy here in Year 6, so please feel free to call in, after school, if you need to talk to us about anything. If we can't see you immediately, we will arrange a time as soon as possible that is convenient for you.
**Our PE days this half term are Thursday and Friday. Please make sure that you have your P.E. kit in school. We have team building exercises with Commando Joe on Thursday and athletics on a Friday.
Booster sessions for SATs continue on a Wednesday and Thursday morning at 8am for the next couple of weeks. There are no booster mornings for SATs week. Please encourage children to use their revision books regularly at home to support their revision.
Reading bags continue to go home on a Wednesday and must be returned the following Monday.

All the children have worked exceptionally hard over the last few months and they are ready to sit the SATs! We are very proud of all the children. They are all superstars! We know the SATs are just a part of your child’s education and it is only a small insight into your child’s abilities. It does not show the uniqueness and qualities of your children. However, we sit them, as all schools do, and we just want the children to be so very proud of themselves.
If your child would like to come into school at 8.30 a.m for breakfast in SATs week, they are welcome to do so. This gives an opportunity for the children to chat and relax with friends and to speak to Mr Wilde or myself if they have any worries or concerns about the tests. The tests will start at 9.15 a.m.
If your child is unwell on the day please notify the school as soon as possible.
I would also like this opportunity to thank all the parents for the continued support through this last year of your child being a St John Vianney pupil. If you have any questions about the SATs do not hesitate to contact Mr Wilde or myself.
This term we have been surprised to discover a large egg in the school grounds. We aren't sure what it is at the moment but we can't wait to find out and tell you all about it.
This time of year is really special to us as we remember all our brave service men and women who have made sacrifices for all of us. We will be studying WW1, reading and writing some beautiful poetry and attending a memorial service at church.
