In Year 2, we provide a warm and nurturing environment where children feel happy, confident, and ready to learn. Our curriculum is engaging, hands-on, and designed to be accessible to all. Throughout Year 2, children develop their independence whilst learning to work together and helping each other to succeed. Children are supported to challenge themselves, embrace new skills, and learn from their mistakes in a safe and positive space.

Over the course of the year, we explore a range of exciting topics, including Living Things and Their Habitats in science, The RMS Titanic in history, Hot and Cold Places in geography and AI in computing.

Important Notices:

– Our PE days are Tuesday and Friday. The children are required to come to school in their PE kit on these days.

– Book bags and homework will be sent out on a Friday and should be returned each Wednesday.

– At St John Vianney, we aim for every child to develop into a fluent and confident reader who truly enjoys and values reading, both in school and at home. Please continue to support your child’s learning at home by reading with them 3x per week.
